Let Us Add a Touch of Nature to Your Life

Hello, I’m Emma, welcome to Grove Cottage Florals, my little sanctuary of dried and fresh botanicals. I work with foraged, homegrown, and bought dried and fresh flowers, foliage, grasses, and seed pods in their natural glory to create sustainable everlastings for you and your home. Each creation is completely unique and creating them requires slowing down and finding some peace.​ I turned to nature as a way of healing myself from years of toxic work environments and burn out back in 2019 and haven’t looked back since. I love to walk and forage for some of nature’s finest produce and make it into something I can use in the home and in my favourite recipes. ​ 

 

Why a floral artist? I have had a love of flowers and foliage for as long as I can remember. I always have flowers either bought, or ones I have picked whilst out on a walk, or from the garden, dotted around my home arranged in the vast selection of vintage bottles and jars I have collected over the years. The act of being outdoors, smelling, touching, and hearing all that nature has to offer and being able to bring a little of this back into my home and cooking, not only supports my physical wellbeing but also my mental wellbeing. After a long, hard day coming home to see beautifully arranged fresh or dried flowers or foliage inspired by Yorkshires landscape, or baking with edible herbs and flowers I have foraged or grown in my cottage garden, or making wild syrups that I can add to a weekend tipple or two brings me happiness, peace and tranquillity amongst the chaos of everyday life as a busy working mum of two and a puppy.​ 

 

Why a floral business? During an extremely difficult time in my life in 2022 a wonderful friend gave me the opportunity to be  part of her beautiful flower shop, working with such inspiring, empowering women who had similar experiences allowed me to express the creativity within me that had evidently  been there all along; however due to crippling self-doubt, low confidence and a huge case of imposter syndrome I wasn’t quite ready at that point to follow my dreams, and I retreated back to what I knew. Over the last few months with the help of some of the best people in my life I have decided to take the plunge and share with the world – well some of Yorkshire to start with my creations and welcome people to join me on this amazing journey in turning what has been my passion for so long, and my absolute therapy in more recent years into a small business that brings happiness, self-care, and wellbeing to others.

 

My creations are of free flowing, wild designs in natural, earthy colours inspired by our amazing Yorkshire landscape. I work as sustainable as possible, with materials that are grown and sourced locally.​ I have so many exciting ideas that I can’t wait to share with you in 2024, but for now I leave you to browse some of my collection and I welcome you to contact me for further information or discuss any bespoke designs - watch this space!
